Supporting Children in Need Through the Baby Swimming Initiative

Baby swimming is one of the most important activities for the physical and psychological development of infants and toddlers. This form of exercise is particularly beneficial as it strengthens the children's musculoskeletal system. Additionally, it has been proven to reduce stress and tension, acting as a form of play and entertainment.

Recognizing the benefits of baby swimming, Kind Things Foundation, in collaboration with Angeliki Karapataki - Olympic water polo champion and infant swimming instructor - and the baby swimming center "Panda in the Water," have joined forces to create a unique program. This program aims to provide essential support to young children who lack affection, love, and embrace. It targets children aged 5 months old to 5 years old who are hosted at the “Penteli Child Protection Facility”.

The “Baby Swimming” program, held twice a week with the help of volunteers, gives these children the opportunity to discover a new world full of fun, carefreeness, and love. It is worth noting that from the very beginning, the “Penteli Child Protection Facility” responded with enthusiasm, embracing the initiative with seriousness and responsibility. This allowed the children to come into contact with water, play, and build self-confidence with every splash.

"Panda in the Water" and Angeliki Karapataki participate voluntarily, while Kind Things made a donation to supply the necessary swimming equipment and adjustable chairs for transportation, and arranged children’s transportation from the facility to the swimming pool and back.

This initiative is not just a form of exercise or entertainment. It is a vital activity that enhances the physical, psychological, and social development of children who need it the most.
